Position: Overnight Security - Saturday & Sunday Nights
Description: Our Overnight Security is primarily responsible for providing security and safety to the guests, staff and the hotel during the nighttime. You must become familiar with and comply with the hotels standards and procedures. You will patrol all areas of the property and assist guests with room access if required during the shift.
Responsibilities: - Complete multiple walks through hotel (while doing the walks and floor check remove and cups, wine glasses, plates, and trash) Guest hallways should be always clear.
- Complete checklist in detail.
- Check Emails and respond in a timely matter if needed.
- Report any issues (fights, fires, floods, etc) Ensure all guest are always feeling safe and secure.
- Greet each guest with "Welcome to the Historic Thayer Hotel, my name is greeting. WHILE walking through building."
- Open the door for incoming / outgoing guests, when at the door.
- Check IN with the Front Desk and MOD (if still there) once your shift starts.
- Help the guests retrieve their luggage from their vehicles and assist to guest room.
- Read Communication Log & Security Log, before starting shift.
- Assist Night Audit with any maintenance or housekeeping needs, reported by guest.
- Restocking Front Desk Sundries Items (water, soda, chips, cookies, etc.)
- Sanitizing bell carts, golf carts (when in use), front door, railings, bell closet, valet stand, tables, chairs, counters.
- Keep Front entrance (outside and inside foyer) clean and clear (luggage carts go in Bellman's Closet when not used)
- Check Wearhouse & Kitchen Refrigerators and Freezers and record temps.
- Check the Boiler (every 2 hours) to ensure the hotel has hot water. Restart if necessary.
This is a weather essential position: - WINTER: Help keep the wood wagon filled overnight, for morning staff
- WINTER: Help keep fireplace clean
- WINTER: Help shovel and salt front entrance and ALL slated areas and keep lobby foyer dry and clean
Qualifications Required Qualifications: - Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Enthusiastic and energetic team player.
- Must be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
