A contract opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support two 4th-grade students in an elementary school setting. This position requires fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and experience working with children in an educational environment. One of the students utilizes a cochlear implant, highlighting the need for an interpreter knowledgeable in diverse hearing needs.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing clear and accurate interpretation during classroom instruction from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
• Facilitating communication between students, teachers, and staff to ensure equal access to the curriculum.
• Supporting the social and academic development of the assigned students through effective communication.
• Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional standards at all times.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language with proven interpreting experience.
• Familiarity with educational settings and working with children.
• Understanding of cochlear implant technology and its impact on communication.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to work full school day hours, Monday through Friday.
