About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President, Corporate Communications for its Motion Picture Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the group's touchpoints with trade and business media, ensuring a distinct voice in all outbound messaging. This role involves the development and implementation of strategic business and content communications efforts, executive communications, and crisis/issues management. The VP will work closely with senior executives, business partners, and various internal teams to oversee the communication strategy for 20 or more motion pictures annually, from production to release. Key responsibilities include handling casting and film rights leaks strategy, shaping positioning and messaging for films, and formulating crisis communication strategies. The role also requires the VP to enhance the visibility of the films in the media and to leverage industry expertise to anticipate opportunities and risks. Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years' of corporate, crisis communications, or media relations experience within the motion picture industry, with a proven track record in developing and executing integrated communication strategies. Strong existing relationships with key trade media, excellent judgment, and exceptional writing skills are essential. The role demands an energetic, strategic thinker with the ability to align departmental goals with business objectives, and experience in managing high-stakes media relations. The VP will be expected to collaborate effectively within a team, work independently, and manage executive presence at special events. A college degree is required, with a graduate degree preferred. The ideal candidate will be a creative and innovative thinker, capable of shaping the communication strategy and evangelizing the studio's broader narrative.
