Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for an Extended School Year (ESY) contract opportunity in Fairfax, VA. This position offers an excellent opportunity to support students from kindergarten through 12th grade during the summer months, with potential for renewal for the 2025-2026 school year.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Virginia Special Education teaching license required
• Experience working with students across elementary to secondary grade levels
• Strong understanding of diverse learning needs and individualized education plans (IEPs)

Location:

• Fairfax, Virginia

Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to students with disabilities during ESY program dates
• Collaborate with educational staff to implement individualized teaching strategies
• Participate in preparatory work on July 1, 2, and half-day on July 3 before instruction begins
• Teach students ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade, adjusting approach based on age and skill level
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with team members

Schedule:

• ESY program runs from July 7 through August 1
• Instructional hours vary from 5 hours per day for elementary students to 5.5 hours for secondary students
