Job Description

An opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide in-person services for a middle school student in Seattle, WA. This contract role begins with a planning day prior to the start of the school year on September 3, 2025, and continues through June 17, 2026, with a possibility of extension to accommodate additional needs such as snow days.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, in-person sign language interpretation for a middle school student
• Facilitate effective communication between the student, educators, and peers throughout the school day
• Support academic and social engagement within the classroom setting
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure appropriate communication access and adjustments as needed

Qualifications:

• EIPA rating of 4.0 or higher, ensuring expert-level proficiency in sign language interpretation for educational settings
• Experience working with middle school-aged students in a similar role is preferred
• Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in an educational environment
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively support student engagement and interaction

Work Schedule and Location:

• Approximately 6.5 hours per day, totaling 32.5 hours per week
• Services provided in person within a middle school setting in Seattle, WA
