Senior Director of Operations – Remote – Travel

About the job:

Are you a Director of Operations in the midstream pipeline and facility construction arena? My industry leading client are looking to add to their senior leadership team. They are extremely busy and in a fluctuating economy, their stability is valued greatly by the people that already work there.

You will lead all field construction activities (from a Strategic level), including pipeline and facility construction, civil and structural, trucking, boring, and renewables. You will be part of the senior leadership team which includes, Vice President of Operations and Project Execution, and Senior Director of Safety.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to recruit, train, develop, and retain employees, and be part of a Team while focused on uncompromised excellence in safety, quality, and productivity, which are also core values.

The Role :

• Lead a team responsible for leading the field execution, pipeline, and facility construction, civil and structural, boring, trucking and renewables.
• Responsible for the safety of all personnel and property on all projects and works cooperatively with staff to ensure everyone stays committed to achieving a zero-injury safety culture.
• Develop and implement company policies and procedures and ensures that all are followed.
• Work directly with the Senior Director of Project Execution, and Senior Director of Safety to manage the day-to-day business and provide support for safety estimating, project execution, and management of all projects.
• Profit and loss analysis
• Work as an active team member participating in bid reviews and constructability reviews.
• Develop and manage highly productive relationships and partnerships for the benefit of the organization.
• Develop team goals, monitor work, and evaluate results.
• Work closely with Human Resources to identify, attract, and retain talent
• Work with project execution to ensure projects are being managed to meet the planned budget and schedules.
• Ensure good working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors are developed and maintained.
• Maintain good industry involvement with associations and state and local government relationships.
• Identify and assist in leading new business opportunities, provide presentations, and attend conferences and client dinners.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Vice President of Operations and Project Execution.

You will have:

• 15+ years of direct industry experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or Business preferred
• Demonstrable knowledge of all construction processes, emphasizing industrial construction in the oil, gas, and renewables sector.
• Ability to read drawings, plans, and proposals; visualized the job; and see the opportunities.
• Ability to communicate and work with all management levels to achieve the goals set for specific projects.
• Proven ability to supervise, train, and develop personnel.
• Must be able to perform in a Team atmosphere.
• Proven performer with bottom-line responsibility.
• Manage projects involving incentives/disincentives with strict deadlines and a knack for pushing the schedule.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with internal and external customers
• Strategic thinker with growth mindset
• Advanced analytical skills
• Proficient computer skills i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Projects

This is a remote position with Travel which will be around 25-30%.
