JOB OVERVIEW

• Job Title: Orthopedic Surgeon (Hand)
• Job Type: Permanent Full-Time
• Location: Hobart & Valparaiso, IN (Chicagoland Area)
• Service Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient
• Schedule: Monday Friday, with shared call responsibilities (1:6 rotation)
• On-Call Expectations: 1:6 rotation
• Start Date: Negotiable (credentialing typically 90120 days) PATIENT POPULATION & SCOPE
• Patient Demographics: Adults and Geriatrics
• Average Daily Volume / Census: Diverse hand and upper extremity surgical caseload
• Admissions & Rounding: Included
• Consults & Follow-Ups: Yes
• Case Mix/Clinical Focus Areas: Hand surgery and general orthopedic cases FACILITY & TEAM DETAILS
• Beds in Department/Unit: Orthopedics Unit within a 458-bed hospital system
• EMR System: Epic fully integrated HIMSS Stage VII
• Specialty Backup: Comprehensive physician network with subspecialty surgical support
• Support Staff: Nurse practitioner support in inpatient and outpatient settings
• Leadership & Reporting Structure: Reports within Community Healthcare System physician group
• Reason for Opening: Growth and expansion of orthopedic service line CREDENTIALING & COMPLIANCE
• Board

Requirements: Board Certified/Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery (Hand focus encouraged)

• DEA & Certifications: DEA, CSR, licensure as required
• Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 90120 days COMPENSATION & PERMANENT BENEFITS

• Experience: Subspecialty training in Hand Surgery encouraged; new graduates
