Job Summary The Patient Escort is responsible for safely escorting hospital and ambulatory patients traveling by wheelchair, stretcher, or hydraulic stretcher to their designated destinations while providing courteous and professional service. Key Responsibilities Complete the Daily Disinfection & Tracking Log for each patient escorted from Patient Entry Points to their initial appointment or destination. Sanitize the wheelchair before each patient using the Wheelchair “High-Touch†Disinfection/Inspection Protocol. Follow the Equipment Checklist when assisting patients on and off the wheelchair. Transport patients in a timely and safe manner from the Entry Point to their first appointment. Provide excellent customer service by maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor with patients and caregivers at all times. Follow directions, navigate independently throughout the campus, and communicate effectively. Safely push patients weighing 200 pounds or more via wheelchair. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 1 year patient care experience. Strong customer service experience. Ability to safely push at least 200 pounds in a wheelchair.
