Job Description

Job Title: MuleSoft Consultant

Location: Austin (On site)

Employment Type: Full-Time Contract

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned MuleSoft Consultant with 5-7 years of hands-on MuleSoft implementation experience to join our integration practice. The successful candidate will lead design and delivery of middleware/API solutions leveraging the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform across cloud, hybrid and on-premises environments. You will translate business and technical requirements into robust integration architectures, execute end-to-end development, and partner with cross-functional teams to enable scalable, maintainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather integration requirements, assess current state and define target state.
  • Design and develop APIs, integrations, data flows and connectors using MuleSoft (Anypoint Studio, API Manager, CloudHub, Runtime Fabric).
  • Apply API-led connectivity principles (System API, Process API, Experience API), integration design patterns (routing, filtering, transformation, orchestration) and messaging (synchronous/asynchronous).
  • Develop data transformations using DataWeave, mapping XML/JSON/CSV structures, implement exception handling, reconciling, batch processing and queuing mechanisms.
  • Integrate MuleSoft with SaaS and on-premises systems (CRM, ERP, databases, JMS/Active MQ, SFTP) in A2A, B2B and enterprise scenarios.
  • Write technical design documentation, maintain solution architecture diagrams, API specifications (RAML/Swagger/OpenAPI), governance standards, and support code-review and testing efforts.
  • Support deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting and performance tuning of integrations; drive continuous improvement of integration delivery practices and toolkits.
  • Mentor junior team members, participate in knowledge-sharing, promote best practices and contribute to integration center of excellence.
  • Stay current on MuleSoft platform upgrades, emerging integration technologies and industry trends; propose enhancements, proofs-of-concept and reusable assets.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience implementing enterprise integrations with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (Mule 3.x or 4.x).
  • Solid experience with API design and development (REST, SOAP), RAML/Swagger/OpenAPI, JSON, XML, XSD, WSDL.
  • Strong Java development background, experience with ESB, messaging (JMS, MQ), queuing, error-handling and batch integration flows.
  • Experience integrating SaaS/ERP/CRM applications and working across cloud and on-premise architectures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and with client teams, manage multiple tasks and deliver within deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to present technical information to business and IT stakeholders.
  • Must be a Green Card holder or US Citizen

Preferred Skills

  • MuleSoft certification (MuleSoft Certified Developer/MuleSoft Certified Architect).
  • Experience with DevOps/CI-CD for Mule integrations (Jenkins, Git, Maven).
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture, iPaaS, API management lifecycle and monitoring platforms.
  • Previous consulting or client-facing services experience.
  • Experience working in agile delivery models.

Why Join Us

  • Be part of a leading integration practice delivering high-impact solutions with a global footprint.
  • Work on diverse projects across industries, leveraging MuleSoft as a strategic pillar.
  • Opportunity for career growth into architect, team lead or integration centre of excellence roles.
  • Collaborative culture with learning, mentoring, certification support and career development.

Submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your MuleSoft experience and key integration projects you’ve delivered. Include any certifications and link to your professional profile or portfolio if available.

We are committed to creating an inclusive and diverse workplace. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, colour, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or veteran status.
