Job Description

As the Chief Investment Officer at GuideOne, you will be responsible for the strategic asset allocation of the investment portfolio, ensuring optimal risk/reward balance and liquidity management in support of the Companys insurance operations and long-term capital strategy. You will work closely with external investment consultants and manage relationships, including strategy setting and tracking performance, with external investment managers. This role involves significant collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on strategic initiatives and regular exposure to the Board of Directors.

Accountabilities:

• Develop and implement strategic asset allocation plans for the investment portfolio.
• Collaborate with external investment consultants to optimize portfolio performance.
• Manage and oversee relationships with external investment managers.
• Monitor and analyze market trends to inform investment decisions.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Report investment performance and strategy updates to the CEO and Board of Directors.
• Work closely with the CFO to align investment strategies with overall financial goals.
• Assess and manage portfolio risk, ensuring a balanced risk/reward profile.
• Maintain liquidity to meet the company's operational and strategic needs.
• Manage custody account relationships and various collateral deposits.
• Provide investment income and expense forecasts.
• Conduct quarterly assessment for other-than-temporary impairment of invested assets.
• Provide ad hoc research and analysis of investment portfolio for senior management and Board of Directors.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field; MBA and/or CFA preferred.
• Extensive experience in investment management, preferably within the insurance industry.
• Strong knowledge of asset allocation strategies and portfolio management.
• Proven ability to work with external consultants and manage advisor relationships.
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and presentation skills, with experience reporting to senior executives and boards.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
