Job Overview Catering Event Staff are responsible for maintaining a high quality of service and hospitality for Lakeview Village residents and their guests by providing exceptional service at all assigned catering events. They contribute to residents' quality of life by providing superior meals, optimal choices, and caring services. Responsibilities Properly set up and decorate all catering events: table, chair, décor, and equipment setup and removal; interpret event orders to meet client needs; use linens, china, glassware, silverware, and small wares for various events. Provide excellent service and hospitality at all scheduled events: ensure guest satisfaction, communicate catering information to staff and guests, anticipate and accommodate guest needs. Demonstrate a working knowledge of all catering and beverage menu items to answer questions for residents and/or guests. Identify and report hazardous conditions or equipment in a timely manner. Serve alcoholic beverages responsibly according to established procedures in the State of Kansas and at Lakeview Village. Maintain assigned catering event areas in a clean, safe, and orderly manner for efficiency, sanitation, and guest comfort. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED preferred. One year of catering, restaurant, or banquet experience required. Bartending experience preferred. Must be at least 21 years of age as required by Kansas Alcohol Beverage Control for alcohol-related duties. Working knowledge of catering and bartending equipment, including chafing dishes, warmers, glassware, and portable bars. Basic mathematical skills. Good communication skills. Empathetic approach to the elderly. Team player with residents, relatives, staff, and others. Physical capacity to lift 15 lbs. frequently from 30-52 inches, 36 lbs. occasionally from floor to 72 inches, carry 15 lbs. for 75 ft., and various other specified requirements. PDC Level: Medium.
