Boston University’s College of Communication invites applications for a non-tenure track associate professor of the practice to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in sports journalism. Successful candidates for this position must have experience in a complex media organization as well as strong experience in and an abiding commitment to promoting an inclusive and diverse educational environment.

A successful candidate should have the following:
  • A distinguished career as a journalist, including a record of sustained excellence.
  • Expertise in sports reporting and analysis.
  • Qualifications appropriate for an appointment as an associate professor of the practice at Boston University. See link here
  • Experience in an academic community, including teaching and creative endeavors in nonfiction storytelling or scholarly research.
  • A Master’s degree is preferred; a doctorate is desirable but not required.
  • Ability to teach skills courses in text and visual journalism as well as specialty courses in the subject areas outlined above.
  • Demonstrated accomplishments in promoting diversity and inclusion in an organization.
